About Superstat

Superstat is one of the fastest growing sports tech startups in the world. We turn sports game film into pro-level sports stats using computer vision. Think ESPN level data but for High school, Rep or even Monday night social sport with your friends!

Since launching at the start of this year, we have:

  • Raised $3.5M from Blackbird VC

  • Grown to 5,000+ teams using Superstat

  • Launched the world’s fastest sports computer vision model.

We’re looking for a growth engineer who can build growth loops into Superstat. Someone who sees an opportunity to turn one player account into 5 through product led growth loops, someone who’s constantly running A/B tests on landing pages, onboarding and product experiences.

You’ll come up with ideas, build them, launch experiments and measure what happens. Your job is to bring more users into Superstat, convert more of them into paying users and make every marketing dollar more efficient.

The role

As our founding growth engineer your job is to build things that make Superstat grow faster.

You’ll have the freedom to spot opportunities, come up with ideas and turn them into real products that thousands of teams and players use.

  • Build viral growth loops: Find creative ways to turn every game, stat, highlight and player into an opportunity to bring more people into Superstat.

  • Turn more users into paying customers: Figure out where users drop off, what’s stopping them from converting and building experiences that make upgrading and sharing Superstat a no-brainer.

  • Make Superstat more sticky: Build features that keep coaches, parents and players coming back, sharing their stats and uploading more games.

  • Experiment like crazy: Come up with ideas, ship them fast, measure what happens and double down on what works.

  • Own your ideas from start to finish: Go from spotting an opportunity to writing the code, launching it and seeing the impact on real users within the day.

  • Find the next big growth opportunity: There won’t be a roadmap. You’ll have full autonomy to challenge how things work, find opportunities we’ve missed and surprise us with what you build.

What you’ll do

  • Make acquisition and conversion tracking clear and reliable across web and mobile, from the first touch through purchase and repeat revenue.

  • Build and test landing pages matched to our Meta and Google ads, working with marketing to turn more clicks into paying customers.

  • Create shareable player stat cards, clips and results that players, parents and coaches want to send to others.

  • Build referral programs, team invitations and rewards for user-generated content, measuring the customers and revenue they generate.

  • Improve onboarding, free-game activation, purchase prompts and checkout through conversion rate optimisation.

  • Apply behavioural psychology through clearer choices, social proof, useful incentives and well-timed prompts.

  • Test game packs, bundles, upsells and repeat-purchase experiences to increase average order value and customer lifetime value.

  • Use PostHog, session recordings, customer feedback and experiments to decide what to build next.

What we’re looking for

Your strongest skill is turning a growth opportunity into something that works in the product. You can write production code, understand customer behaviour and measure whether your change worked.

You have strong TypeScript and React skills and can work across frontend and backend code. You’re comfortable building independently without needing every task fully specified.

You understand funnels, attribution and experimentation. You can distinguish a tracking problem from a product problem, and a promising result from a coincidence.

You care about design and copy. You understand why someone clicks, shares, signs up or buys, and can translate that understanding into a better experience.

Our stack is primarily TypeScript, React, Next.js and React Native, with modern cloud infrastructure and analytics tools.

You don’t need experience with every tool. Show us the ability in your work: a referral feature, a landing page, an onboarding improvement, an upsell or another experiment you built. Tell us what you changed and what happened.

How we’ll work

Over your first 30 days, you’ll learn the Superstat product, establish trustworthy tracking and identify the biggest opportunities across acquisition, conversion and monetisation. You’ll also start shipping product improvements and testing new ideas.

Over your first 90 days, you’ll build and test improvements to the onboarding and purchase journey alongside sharing and referral experiments.

You’ll work closely with the founders to connect how we attract customers with what they experience inside Superstat.

Success looks like more customers coming through referrals and sharing, more users experiencing the value of their first game, higher paid conversion, greater revenue per customer and improved return on ad spend.

PLG is your bread and butter. 🍞🧈

The opportunity

  • US$120,000–140,000 base salary, depending on experience.

  • Equity ownership in a venture-backed fast growing sports tech company.

  • Ownership of growth features and experiments from idea through launch and results.

  • The opportunity to build experiences used and shared by thousands of sports teams.

  • Direct influence on how Superstat grows, with room to shape the role as the company scales.

We welcome applicants from across the US and also Australians interested in relocating. You’ll need to work with us in Austin five days a week. Visa support for Australian applicants is subject to eligibility.
